~Too many cheerleaders make the mistake of thinking that they can pull their hair up and use the ponytail holder attached to the hair bow to hold the hair. I have seen it a hundred times and it makes me want to scream! The ponytail holder attached to the cheer bow is to hold the cheer bow, not the hair. You should truly put the hair up in at least two ponytail holders (GOODIE OR SCUNCIE Brands works best) before placing the cheer bow in it to work properly. The ponytail should be high on the head and directly over the ears. Depending on the size of the cheerleader, it should be approximately 3-4 inches from the forehead. A lot of people choose to add a second ponytail holder to the hair at this time. If the cheerleader has really thick hair you will want to use as many as three or four ponytail holders before putting in the cheer bow. This will also help to ensure a nice high ponytail. If wearing hair “half-up, half-down”, the pony should still be high on the head, no less than 2-3 inches from the forehead.
~Place bow over ponytail with bow at the underside of ponytail. Twisting the ponytail holder, bring the bow over the top of the ponytail and secure in the front of the ponytail. The ponytail holder should be secured on the bottom of the ponytail holders used to hold the ponytail itself. In other words, the bow should be secured to the bottom of the stack of ponytail holders, not to the top, thus decreasing your chances of losing it during a performance!
HALF-UP, HALF-DOWN:
Your ponytail should be directly over your ears and no less than 2-3 inches from your forehead. Use gel or hairspray to create a clean effect! Your bow tails should rest directly on the top of your forehead!
HIGH, TIGHT PONYTAIL:

You DON't even want one girl to look like this!
